Axis Bank My Zone Credit Card Review

Axis Bank My Zone Credit Card was my first credit card which introduced me to the world of credit cards and savings.
This card has gone through many changes in features over the years. When I started, this card used to give 10X points on shopping and dining and then moved to quarterly 30K target spend based rewards and now is a completely different offering which I will discuss below.

Overview of the Card

Axis Bank My Zone credit card is an entry level credit card with the below charges:

– Joining Fee – Rs 500 + GST
– Renewal Fee – Rs 500+GST

Some people having salary account with Axis bank may get this card Life time free (LTF) as well. Also, credit limit given is quite high, typically double your salary. I was given 2.7 times and now its 4.5 times.

How to redeem Axis Bank Reward points

Axis bank rewards its users with Edge Reward Points wherein the value of 1 Edge reward point is Rs 0.20 and the reward rate here is 0.4%. These can be redeemed at their portal https://edgerewards.axisbank.co.in/  to buy gift cards, travel and other vouchers etc.

My take on this

The reward rate of 0.4% was great for me to start off and it was LTF for me and learn the credit card savings game. I used this card to the max in the initial days specifically for dining etc. where it was 4% (10X) at that time. But now I only use this card for 2 purposes –
1. BOGO (1 free movie ticket) on Paytm Movies
2. Swiggy offer of 40% discount.

This card is a good entry level card for someone who is starting off with his / her first credit card. Reward rate of 0.4% is not great but good considering the complimentary offers and lounge benefit on this card. There are other promotions being run on Amazon, Flipkart, Makemytrip etc. by Axis bank and this card definitely helps to save.
After your credit history & income improves, you can utilize these accumulated points to convert to miles or redeem at higher value after upgrading to higher card like I did with Axis Privilege credit card.
